In honor of Black History Month, we’re partnering with Greenlight Bookstore for the month of February to bring diverse books to our students and their families. Our Books of Their Own program ensures that all of our students receive 15 age- and culturally appropriate books for each of their children. Are you in? In today’s political climate, it is increasingly important for children to see themselves reflected in the books they read, the characters they meet, and the worlds that they are introduced to through literature. That’s what our book wishlist aims to address.
February 1 also marks World Read Aloud Day – reading aloud to children every day puts them almost a year ahead of children who do not read daily with their families.
Join us in celebrating World Read Aloud Day and this historic month through the Greenlight Book Drive – our students thank you for helping to create a more just and literate world for all.
