POSITION: Program Support Coordinator
STATUS: Full-time exempt
LOCATION: New York City (remote and in-person)
START DATE: Immediately
SALARY: $40,000 – $44,999 DOE

Literacy Partners strengthens families through a two-generation approach to education. With our free classes, community-based workshops, and educational media, low-income parents develop the literacy and language skills they need to succeed in today’s world. Our research-based curriculum also incorporates child development and parenting support to help parents boost their children’s early reading, school readiness, and social-emotional growth. 

We are looking for an exceptional individual who believes in our mission and wants to develop skills and experience in non-profit volunteer management and adult education. The Program Support Coordinator will join our diverse, social justice oriented team of more than 50 staff, interns, and volunteers.

Reporting to the Program Manager/Volunteer Coordinator and working closely with the Chief Program Officer, this position will manage the daily operations and administration of the volunteer program and Books of their Own program, as well as provide general support for all adult literacy programs as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and assist in managing volunteers for all programs at Literacy Partners, including all intake, registration and onboarding in Salesforce
  • Support in developing a volunteer program for the Liz Smith Center programs and the Development and Communications department, including volunteer trainings, volunteer appreciation events, write website content related to volunteers
  • Assist with daily operations and administration of the Books of their Own program, including inventory, mailing and orders.
  • Support CPO and other Project Managers in Liz Smith Center with daily operations, including mailing, clerical and data entry as needed.


Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of related experience.
● Experience working with teams and multiple programs.
● Excellent oral and written communications skills as well as interpersonal skills.
● Strong digital communications skills, including database and project management software.
● Professional demeanor, good judgment, and the ability to work independently, and collaboratively, in a goal-oriented team environment
● Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google suite
● As needed, ability to work in person (Manhattan office) and some travel within NYC


Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $40,000 – $44,999 DOE
