Literacy Partners Announces the Appointment of Tinika Brown Davis to the Board of Directors

New York, NY – Literacy Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Tinika Brown Davis to its Board of Directors. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Davis serves as the Special Counsel at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where she advises clients in the financial services industry on various regulatory and compliance matters. Prior to joining Schulte in 2022, Davis served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Ehrenkranz Partners LP for 14 years. She was responsible for developing and overseeing the firm’s compliance program and advising on legal and regulatory matters affecting its advisory.

“I am thrilled to welcome Tinika to the Literacy Partners community and Board of Directors. Tinika has impressive knowledge of law and regulatory processes as well as a deep understanding of the importance of literacy as a tool for racial and social equity. I look forward to collaborating with Tinika as we broaden our reach to support low-income families to read and write across generations.” said Anthony Tassi, CEO of Literacy Partners.

Said Davis, “Literacy Partners has transformed the lives of many New Yorkers from various walks of life, and I am excited to contribute to their efforts as a member of the Board. As a first-generation postgraduate, the mission resonates with me personally. I have experienced how literacy can open doors to opportunities and services that would have been inaccessible without this vital education. My family imparted a love of reading, for which I’m forever grateful, and I strive to cultivate a love of reading with my daughters as they grow.”

Founded in 1973, Literacy Partners has provided free adult education classes to more than 25,000 adults who have gone on to make better lives for themselves and their families. The transformative work of Literacy Partners is made possible through the dedication and commitment of the Literacy Partners Board of Directors, which comprises senior-level executives from prominent corporations.
