Writers for Readers
Join prominent authors to support Literacy Partners’ goal in educating 3,000 new students over the next five years.
Writers have long played an important role in the history of Literacy Partners
From reading at our annual Evening of Readings to being part of Writers for Readers, authors’ participation and support have helped Literacy Partners teach thousands of adults to read.
Writers for Readers will bring together prominent authors to highlight the illiteracy problem in NYC and to support Literacy Partners’ work to teach adults and their children to read. The program will fund the Liz Smith Center for Adult and Family Literacy with a goal to educate 3,000 new students over the next five years – nearly doubling the reach of Literacy Partners.
