2018 Evening of Readings and Gala Dinner Dance

On Wednesday, March 14, Literacy Partners held its annual Evening of Readings and Gala Dinner Dance. The event raised close to $1 million for our literacy, language, and high school equivalency classes throughout New York City. This support helps us continue providing free English and High School Equivalency classes and to build home libraries for our students families through our Books of Their Own program. Together, this work helps ensure that New York’s immigrant and low income community members can build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

The crowd at Cipriani Wall Street was treated to a reading of The Goldfinch by award-winning actress Sarah Paulson, who will be starring in the movie adaptation. Cynthia McFadden and Holland Taylor helped us pay tribute to the legacies of Liz Smith, Parker Ladd, and Arnold Scaasi for their philanthropic work with Literacy Partners. We also honored industry giants Randy Falco and Joni Evans.

Our theme this year was “further together” – it took all of us, including you, working together, to get to where we are today. Thank you to all those who attended or contributed to the event, making it a huge success! See more photos and footage from the event.
