POSITION: Executive Assistant

STATUS: Full-time exempt

LOCATION: New York City (remote and in-person)

START DATE: Immediately

SALARY: $45,000-$49,000 DOE and excellent benefits

Literacy Partners strengthens families through a two-generation approach to education. With our free classes, community-based workshops, and educational media, low-income parents develop the literacy and language skills they need to succeed in today’s world. Our research-based curriculum also incorporates child development and parenting support to help parents boost their children’s early reading, school readiness, and social emotional growth. 

The Position

We are seeking an exceptional individual who believes in our mission and wants to develop skills and experience in a non-profit organization. The Executive Assistant is a new position and will be assisting the C-Suite leadership: Chief Operating Officer, Chief Program Officer, and Chief Development Officer. This position will be performing a variety of tasks, helping to keep track of projects and communications, and managing scheduling. As needed, the Executive Assistant will work on special initiatives related to organizational strategy, staff development, personnel management, talent acquisition, and operations. An ideal candidate is self-directed, organized, and looking to gain a wide range of experiences and skills.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Executive Assistant will join our diverse, social justice oriented team of 28 staff and more than 100 interns and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Draft proposals, memos, correspondence, and meeting minutes
  • Assist in talent acquisition (e.g. recruitment and hiring) initiatives
  • Assist in operational initiatives (as a member of the Operations Team) and operational activities (e.g. purchasing)
  • Assist in staff and organizational development initiatives
  • Assist in revenue-generating activities
  • Organize and maintain digital files
  • Schedule meetings
  • Manage e-mail communications as needed

  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Collaborative
  • Proficiency with Google Suite applications
  • Great sense of humor
  • Remote working and ability to travel to office as needed

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $45,000-$49,000 DOE
