POSITION: Executive Assistant
STATUS: Full-time exempt

SALARY: $45,000-$50,000 DOE and excellent benefits

Literacy Partners strengthens families through a two-generation approach to education. With our free classes, community-based workshops, and educational media, low-income parents develop the literacy and language skills they need to succeed in today’s world. Our research-based curriculum also incorporates child development and parenting support to help parents boost their children’s early reading, school readiness, and social-emotional growth.

THE POSITION:

We are seeking an exceptional individual who believes in our mission and wants to develop skills and experience in a non-profit organization. The Executive Assistant staffs the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Chief External Affairs Officer (CEAO). This position will be performing a variety of tasks, including keeping track of projects and communications and managing scheduling. As needed, the Executive Assistant will work on special initiatives related to personnel management, talent acquisition, operations, and development. An ideal candidate is self-directed, organized, and looking to gain a wide range of experiences and skills. Working closely with the Executive Assistant to the CEO, this person will gain unique experiences, insight, and skills related to the essential operations of a non-profit social impact organization.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Executive Assistant will join our diverse team of 30+ staff and more than 100 interns and volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Schedule meetings and manage the calendars of the COO and CEAO
● Assist in talent acquisition (e.g. recruitment and hiring) initiatives
● Assist in operational initiatives (as a member of the Operations Team) and activities (e.g. purchasing)
● Working with the COO, assist in staff and organizational development initiatives (e.g. annual performance review process)
● Working with the CEAO to support revenue-generating activities (e.g. annual NYC marathon fundraiser and virtual events)
● Draft proposals, memos, correspondence, and meeting minutes as needed
● Organize and maintain digital files
● Manage e-mail communications as needed
● Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

● Minimum 2 years work experience
● Excellent writing and communication skills
● Self-directed and strong time management skills
● Detail-oriented and committed to producing high quality work and materials
● Able to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities
● Collaborative
● Proficiency with Google Suite applications (docs, sheets, slides, forms)
● Great sense of humor
● Remote working and ability to travel to office as needed

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $45,000-$50,000 DOE
